Maruvan

Forest of the desert

We are on mission to bring back the native forests of Marwar region by developing native tree species seed bank, a functional nursery and making patches of forest.

Who We Are

Maruvan was started in 2018 in Jodhpur. It was conceptualised and supported by Afforestt, an organisation dedicated to bringing back native forests using the Miyawaki method. We are in the process of collecting native wild tree seeds and aim to develop a functional seed bank.

We are also creating traditional water harvesting structures along with developing natural habitat for humans with local communities and village elders. All of these processes will be documented and available on open source platforms. We will also be hosting various hands-on workshops and training sessions for different group to share this knowledge.
